Hi! Hostess Tami here with the project I promised using the ink that was left on the acrylic block {September 7 post, "Fall is in the Air"}.
I took the leftover ink and spread it across the block using the Stylus & Blender Tip...
Then, I spritzed the block generously using Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz...

The block was then pressed onto a piece of kraft cardstock to transfer all the inky goodness, and here's the result...
...a pretty, shimmery watercolor background.
Of course you don't have to wait to have leftover ink to give this technique a try. You can just dab a few pigment inks on a block, blend, spritz and stamp!
I used the paper as a background for this card featuring a cute tree stamp from Harmonie and sentiment from the {stamps} of life...
I stamped and "Smooched" a few extra leaves to apply to the tree and to scatter at the base of the tree...
Two different colors of Smooch were used for the bark; some areas were not filled in so that the background color would come through as a third color...
The embossed "thanks" sentiment, cut in the shape of a banner and applied across the tree, completes the design...

Hi! I love this project! But I have a question. How did you emboss the image over your background without getting powder everywhere? I love to cover diecuts and card mats with ink or background stamps then stamp an image over them to emboss, but I'm always left with embossing powder where I don't need it. I have tried to heat set the ink before adding the next stamp and using a dryer sheet. What is your secret??? Thanks!
