Peace, Love and Beetles...

Hi! Tami here today with a holiday card to share with you!

Are you a fan of the 60's? Was {or is} Peace, Love and Rock n' Roll your mantra? Are you looking for a Holiday card to send out that captures that retro vibe?

Then maybe this card will do it for you!

I absolutely LOVE the featured stamp from Harmonie! The Christmas tree tied atop the "Beetle" is SO groovy...

The scalloped circle background was stamped twice on white glossy paper using ColorBox Archival Dye Ink in Mermaid. To add some dimension to the card, I wanted to cut out the car, but NOT all those teeny-tiny in between spaces. So the car and tree image was stamped on the second background in order for those spaces to blend into the background when it was cut out. The image was filled in using Smooch Accent Inks; which cover VERY well, so the background doesn't show through. Two colors of green were used on the tree to give it more depth.

The image was stamped and embossed using Mix'd Media Inx and Embossing Powder in Black. I love to color in stamped designs, but find "coloring in the lines" is much more enjoyable when there are "rails" to keep the color where it's supposed to be! So I almost always emboss the design if I plan to fill it in with Smooch...

I knew I needed to find just the right sentiment for this card, and "Peace" was it --- you dig? Banners were stamped on white cardstock and the edges were filled in with Smooch Inks. Rub on letters from Kaiser were used to create the sentiment...
