Altered Basics Blog Hop

Altered Basics Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Altered Basics Blog Hop! The Clearsnap Design Team is inking and altering our Basic Necessities, a variety of packaging materials and containers released at the CHA-W 2012 show in Anaheim, CA earlier this year. These "Basics" allow you to create custom inkpads, mix your own color combinations of Smooch Spritz and Glitter, as well as provide a blank canvas for cute altered gifts, like the adorable tins our My First ColorBox Stamps are packaged in. You might recognize packaging from some of your favorite Clearsnap products like the salt shaker style jars from the Donna Salazar Designs Fairy Dust Glitter, an uninked ColorBox inkpad, and the Clear Boxes our Smooch Spritz Assortment Packs are packaged in. We think these Basic Necessities will allow your creativity to soar!

We're also excited about giving away a set of select Basic Necessities items as prize for one hop commenter! Just click on the blogs each day, browse through the post and check out the "Altered Basic", and then leave a comment about your favorite Basic Necessity to be entered to win.

For an extra entry, post the secret phrase "I love the Basics!" on our Facebook Page here: http://www.facebook.com/Clearsnap

We'll choose one winner from all of the comments on March 9, 2012!

Welcome to the second day of our Altered Basics Blog Hop!  Jean Okimoto here, sharing two quick, easy sweet treat ideas for Easter.

We're celebrating the release of Clearsnap's  newest line - BASIC NECESSITIES - a collection of containers and other cool stuff for organizing, displaying, creating and adding a splash of color to your day.

These little candy boxes would be great Easter brunch favors, placecards, basket fillers - or a sweet surprise for your favorite bunnies.  They're also perfect for weddings, trick-or-treaters or Christmas stockings.  Imagine the larger size filled with mini-marshmallows and chocolates in a s'mores kits on July 4th.    How about silver kisses and bright red candy hearts in February?  Or confetti, streamers and shiny foil-wrapped chocolates to welcome the New Year!
The Pillow Boxes come in 2 sizes - 2"x.75"x3" or 3"x1"x5". They're so easy to make - just burnish Orchard Spray and Leaf Nouveau Design Adhesives onto the empty boxes.  Brush Peridot or Emerald City Glitter onto the adhesive pattern and tap off the excess glitter.  Use a microfiber towel to remove any stray specks of glitter.  Fill them with treats, then tie them with pretty ribbons.  That's it - you can make them ahead of time, and they're easy to pack and transport too.

  7. What a great idea and they'd be easy to mail to the kids out of state. I'm not sure what is my fav as everything is so cool. I guess the inkpad still tops it. We'll see after I finish todays bloghop. Thanks for the great ideas

  8. What a great, simple way to package up some goodies! Don't necessarily need to add a lot since jellybeans and/eggs are already so colorful! Now if you could only make some that are always full.....

Am really enjoying this hop! I can't just pick one, my favorites are the salt shakers, the spritzers and the uninked pads.

  9. What a clever idea! I love the "unfilled" packaging. If I could find a merchant who sold these things I would buy them in a minute. I especially like the uninked ink pad. Really like!
