This card started out as a sketch. I always carry a notebook with me and write or sketch things when I get inspired. I honestly can't remember what inspired this sketch, but when I was looking to start this project I flipped through my book and decided to use this sketch.
To start I made a card and slightly smaller front panel from cardstock.
Then I cut the panel into three parts so that I could color them individually and be sure they would fit back together appropriately.
I love the built in self inking ink pad in the Rollograph, but in this case I decided that I wanted embossing and used the Top Boss ink pad instead. I just rolled the rollograph over the ink pad a few times.
After heat embossing with the Top Boss embossing powder , I inked the paper with the Stephanie Barnard Dye ink pad and then wiped with a baby wipe to remove the ink from the embossed design. I had originally planned to color the panels with Smooch Spritz, which would work also to reveal the embossed pattern. I changed my mind because I wanted to use these specific colors. I love how bright and cheery this combo is.
I then repeated this process with the other stamps and pieces of the panel. After reassembling the pieces, I decided to trim it down a little so I could mat it on black cardstock. Finally, I stamped the sentiment and frame on white cardstock and hand cut it out before adding to the card front with foam tape for some dimension.
Thanks for stopping by today!
