Valentine's just a few days away - grab your cookie cutter for this card! Jean Okimoto here - with a dip-it-in-ink project for you and your kids. Use a cheap cookie cutter devoted to crafts - not one you plan to use later for chocolate-dipped shortbread hearts. Yum!
Use a kraft knife to carefully divide a Basic Necessities Uninked Pad into three sections,
then ink the sections using the re-inkers for Ruby, Picante and Orchid ColorBox Pigment Inkpads.
Press the inks onto an acrylic stamp block, then spray the block with three spritzes of water. Let the colors blend for a few seconds.
Dip the rounded (non-cutting) edge of a heart cookie cutter into the ink and stamp the inks onto watercolor paper. Clean the cookie cutter and repeat the process using different sections of the inked block to create several overlapping multi-colored hearts. Emboss the hearts with detail clear powder.
Diecut Cupid Heart from scrap paper and save the negative section. Use cosmetic sponges to stencil the residual inks from the acrylic block over the hearts. Heat-set the sponged inks.
Stamp Love Makes World onto vellum with ColorBox Limited Edition Pepper. Stamp the heart - attached to the side of the Filled with Love stamp - with the Ruby ink from the multi-colored inkpad. Emboss the greeting with Top Boss Opalescent Clear Powder.
Diecut "x" three times from Dark Red Cardstock and attach it to the heart. Diecut Contempo Circle Border from black cardstock using the Memory Box Metal Adapter Plate and other plates required for thin metal dies. Assemble the card. Attach the greeting with mini-brads.
