Smooches!

Hey everyone!  Suzanne here today to share a project that I've completed using Smooch Spritz inks. These inks are probably my all time favorite because of the high concentration of pigment and shimmer. Here's the layout I created using Smooch Spritz, water, and a stencil to  achieve a unique "watercolor" background.

This is a super fun and quick technique.  I was able to achieve several different looks with one load of ink and water.  

Begin with a piece of freezer paper and circle stencil from The Crafter's Workshop.  Lay the stencil onto the freezer paper.  Using Tea Party, Sun Kissed, Sea Kiss, and Pink Sprinkles inks, (I've chosen complimentary colors-looking to create new colors when they blend ;)) randomly spritz the stencil roughly three to four times with each color.  Once you're satisfied with the look, spray each section with water and watch the magic happen!  The water "extends" the Smooch Spritz (the colors still remain vibrant and shimmery) and allows for "bleeding" to occur.  

Not wanting to waste ink, I grab a few pieces of watercolor paper and begin "lifting."  I laid a couple of pieces on top of the stencil while it was still on the freezer paper-achieving really blended images.  The more I lift, the more defined the image becomes. 

This is the final image I decided to go with; I got this particular image by taking the stencil off the freezer paper and laying it on the paper...pushing down on the areas that I wanted the most color.  That's it! 

To finish the page, I used Black Velvet Smooch Spritz with water and a paintbrush to apply "paint" splats, spritzed some shipping tags using Sea Breeze and Citrus Tickle Smooch for additional pops of color, and used the "Wordswords" Jumbo Rollagraph wheel on a piece of scrap "smooched" paper-backing it with canvas for added interest.  I hope you've enjoyed this project as much as I did creating it!
