LOVE Lives Here

Hi - Jean here - sharing a spritzy Valentine project in warm, bright colors.  I love combining the natural, speckly texture of chipboard with the shimmery glimmer of Smooch Spritz.  Delicate doilies, tulle, ribbons, buttons and twine from The Twinery add the finishing touch.  The Hearts, Primitive #3 die from Sizzix cuts three sizes perfect for layering.

Spritz Boards Alphabet Set from Hampton Art is the perfect backdrop for blended shades of ColorBox Fluid Chalk inks.  The boards are patterned with tiny dots designed to resist the Chalk inks.  A quick mist of Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz adds a pearly, romantic glow to LOVE.  Here are the directions for this project:

Clearsnap Products
Other Supplies
  • Hampton Art Spritz Board Alphabets
  • The Twinery Pink Sorbet and Mandarin Twine
  • Paper Accents 8"x12" Rectangle Scallop Natural Chipboard Pennants
  • 1/4" Hole Punch
  • 26-Gauge Copper Wire
  • Sizzix Originals Hearts, Primitive #3 Die
  • Diecut Machine and Plates
  • Dark Peach Buttons
  • Foam Dots
  • Paper Towels
  • Tissue
  • Bazzill Butterfly Tulle
  • 1/4" Orange Ribbon
  • 1/4" Pink Decorative-Edged Ribbon

Pop the letters out of the Spritz Board frames (save the frames for another project).    Using paper towels (and changing them frequently to avoid mixing the ink colors on the inkpads) - spread and blend Berrylicious, Rouge, Orchid Pastel and Tangerine ColorBox Fluid Chalk Inks onto the letters.  (Keep Mandarin and Pink Sorbet from The Twinery nearby to match the blended inks.)  Buff the residual ink from the letters with a tissue.  Place the letters in the Color Catcher and spray them lightly with Vanilla Shimmer.  Allow the inks to dry, then ink the edges with the Fluid Chalk Inks.
Diecut three 5" doilies with the Sizzix Hearts, Primitive #3 Originals Die.  Place a sheet of paper towel in the Color Catcher, lay the hearts on it (one's missing in the picture...I think the puppy ran off with it). Spritz the hearts with Pink Sprinkles, Tea Party and Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.   Dry the inks and select five hearts for the project.  Diecut two more doilies, then assemble and attach three sets of spritzed and plain doilies.  Tie buttons with Mandarin and Pink Sorbet Twine and glue the buttons to the doilies.
Trim the  8"x12" Rectangle Scallop Chipboard Pennant to 8"x8" and punch holes at the top.  Attach the letters and hearts to the pennant.  Attach a four-ply strand of 26-gauge copper wire to the pennant.  Tie Butterfly Tulle, 1/4" wide orange ribbon and 1/4" wide pink decorative-edged ribbon into a bow and attach it to the wire

Hope you like the bright colors on this sweetly-simple project!  Visit our blog again tomorrow for a great new project by Daniela!
