Parisian Romance

Hello Inky Crafters, hostess Tami here with another Valentine in non-tradtional colors...

What is be more romantic than lovely Paris {you have to say it as PA-REE in order for it to have the right impact!} This card would definitely work for your special guy; it's tall, strong and handsome, just like him!

Like the other Valentine card I posted a few days ago, this one started with a "smooched" and stenciled background. I started with a piece of tan cardstock, placed it in the Color Catcher and covered it with the Mini Harlequins template from Crafter's Workshop. I spritzed using Spun Sugar and Log Cabin Smooch Spritz. I spritzed below the template too, to create a border. After the cardstock had dried, I spritzed again across the piece using Ice Rink and Cashmere to add soft touches of color and to fill in the background pattern of the template...

Once the spritzed cardstock had dried again, I used a script stamp from Memory Box and Dark Cashmere ColorBox Graphic 45 Decades Antiquing Dye Ink and stamped the design across the entire piece. I used a postmark stamp from My Sentiments Exactly and Photogenic Antiquing Dye Ink to add to the "collaged" look of the background. I tore the background along the right edge and inked it using the Dark Cashmere Antiquing Dye Ink applied using the Stylus & Tip. Using the Stylus & Tip to apply the ink will create a softer, lighter effect than by running the pad itself along the edge.

The centerpiece of the card is the Eiffel Tower which was done using another stamp from My Sentiments Exactly. I love that the tower stamp is done in an allover script - so vintage, so romantic! I stamped it using Photogenic Antiquing Dye ink, which is a dark, chocolatey brown. I used the Stylus & Tip to add a few touches of Triumphant Red and Bon Voyage Antiquing Dye Inks to add a wash of color to the script design. Then the tower was carefully cut out and adhered to the card across the background and card front...

To dress up the tower a heart and flowers were added to it. The heart was stamped using a MSE stamp and Triumphant Red Antiquing Dye Ink, and then distressed using the Dark Cashmere Ink. I cut tiny slits in the heart so that I could wrap twine around it and tie it up like a present using Baker's Twin from the Twinery. The flowers, from Hero Arts, were bLinGeD up with sugary coat of Pralines & Cream Fairy Dust Glitter...

The sentiments were added using stamps from MSE and Photogenic Antiquing Dye Ink.
