Family Ties

Hi - Jean Okimoto here - with a layout celebrating the special love between Nicholas and one of his Grandmas.
Clearsnap just introduced a group of my first ColorBox mini-stamps - the set featured here is called Movin.  The little stamps are appropriate for children aged three and older.  These cute little stamp sets would also be perfect in little Easter baskets this spring.  Movin is stamped on natural cardstock with five of the six brand-new Limited Edition ColorBox Fluid Chalk Inkpads - from left to right on the layout - Sea Crystal, Guacamole, Candied Yam, Arctic Deep and above that, Red Barn.
Let the stamped images dry for a minute or so.  In the meantime, cut a wavy-edged strip of scrap paper with Purple Cow's Freestyle Mouse Cutting Kit using blade #2805.  Cover the bottom of the stamped images with the wavy paper template and apply Charcoal below it with the Stylus and a White Blending Tip.  Check the results - and repeat the process for a darker border if necessary.
Cut the entire moments, Smile and dotted sections from the Remember This Design Adhesives strip.  Before removing the liner, use your fingers to burnish the strip to ensure that the pattern is transferred onto the clear liner.  (A quick tip...sharply creasing one of the "un-patterned" corners lets you easily remove the liner from the Design Adhesives later.)  Carefully remove the opaque liner and burnish the pattern onto Key Lime Cardstock.
Another quick tip...if you prefer a smoother embossed texture, add a tiny bit of detail clear embossing powder to the Denim Mix'd Media InX Embossing Powder and shake it well to mix the powders.  Heat-emboss the Design Adhesives.

Diecut the photo and Sunflower Cardstock with the Grand Heart Die and ink the edges of the Sunflower heart with Guacamole.  Round the top corners of the text strip, and stamped pieces and a 5-3/8" square piece of turquoise cardstock and ink the edges with Guacamole.

Cut an 8" square of the blue cardstock and round the top corners.  Assemble the layout, attaching the text strip with foam dots.  Tie Caribbean Twine through three turquoise buttons and attach them near the bottom.

  1. There is noticeably a bundle to identify about this. I suppose you made certain nice points in features also.
