Clearsnap: Taking 'em to school!

Hey everyone, Suzanne here to share a layout with you today that's bursting with color using an array of Clearsnap inks inclusive of Clearsnap's Premium Dye Inks and Stephanie Barnard's Premium Dye Ink Sprays. I've also used one of the newly released My First Colorbox mini stamp sets to complete the look.

This is a photo of my son tackling another player during football practice. I love to watch football, but I'm not a fan of my son playing. When he made this tackle, I have to admit, that football spirit emerged just a tiny bit from me.

I will show you the quick and easy technique of inking and word masking using a stencil and die cut letters.

To gain a base, I started out by "loosely" stamping numbers onto the page using stamps from Hampton Arts. To get an idea of where I wanted to ink, I placed the picture in place and moved my Crafter's Workshop stencil around until I was happy with placement.

Next, I die-cut the word "pow" using an oldie but goodie Sizzix Sizzlits alphabet die set "Graffiti." I cut the letters out of a heavy-weight manila tag (something durable like cardstock would work as well); using repositionable tape, I position the letters where I want the word to appear. Once happy with placement, I use tape to secure the stencil in place.

Using my Memory Essentials Stylus with sponge-tip applicator, I load the sponge with Clearsnap's Premium Dye Ink in "Nautical" and begin the application using circular motions. Because the letters are just temporarily placed, instead of using circular motions to apply the ink, I dab the applicator over the letters so they won't move during application.

Using an Xacto knife, I carefully lift the letters up to reveal the word.

The star embellishment was created with the above My First Colorbox Stamp set, Stephanie Barnard Premium Dye Ink Spray in "Strawberry," Queties "Essential" pigment ink (white), and Clearsnap's Embossing Powder in white. Once the tag is sprayed, dried, stamped, and heat embossed, I used a circle punch to create the embellishment...easy peasy!

How cute is the school bus stamp!?! I repetitively stamped a piece of cardstock with the school bus stamp using Premium Dye Ink in "Squash." The "arrows" were cut from a manila tag that I'd sprayed with Stephanie Barnard's Premium Dye Ink Spray in "Spearmint."
