Ombre misting tutorial

Hello! Megan here with a fun trendy little tutorial. Have you been seeing all the Ombre color schemes around? Don't know what Ombre is?

Merriam Webster defines it as: having colors or tones that shade into each other —used especially of fabrics in which the color is graduated from light to dark

So basically, it's a spectrum with shades of one or several colors that blend into one another. I thought it would be fun to make a card with a sunset sort of ombre color scheme using my Smooch Spritz.

The first step is to select your colors and line them up from lightest to darkest. With mists, you may have to test them out to figure out which ones are darker, because the way they look in the bottle isn't always the same as the way they spray. For example, see that bright orange color that is third in my line up? That one sprays really thickly and shows up quite vivid, so the one before it actually turns out lighter even though it looks darker in the container.

Then, just get to misting! Start with the light and mist a couple times, then move to the next color and so on. You will want to practice spray each one on a scrap paper to see how the mist comes out because sometimes it doesn't quite end up where you thought it would. Also, feel free to go back and add a few mists of the lighter colors if the darker ones seem overwhelming. Err on the side of caution, you can always go back and add more spritzes, but you can't take them away.

After it's totally dried, stamp your image and sentiment. I used Blackbird Chalk ink because it provides nice thick coverage for a vivid image.

Here is the finished card!

Supplies: Clearsnap Smooch Spritz
Clearsnap Blackbird Chalk ink
Clearsnap Color Catcher

Other: Bazzill Cardstock
