This is part 1 of a 2 part post, please come back on December 15th for part 2!
Hello! Hostess Tami here!
Special occasion and holiday stamps - like Christmas stamps - can sometimes be a challenge to get multiple uses out of. With their specific themes and designs, they aren't always "multi-taskers".
So i've got 2 totally different projects using the same stamp, Jumbo Poinsettia from Stampendous, to share with you. First up is a plain canvas tote bag that has been altered using Crafter's Ink and Stephanie Barnard Sprays!. Both products are great to use on fabric and are permanant on most fabrics when heat set. You can use it as a shopping bag or a reusable gift bag or BOTH!...
The bag was first sprayed with Banana Sprays!, then natural canvas fabric was sprayed with Bubblegum and Strawberry Sprays! and the poinsettias were stamped with Fire Crafter's Ink. Leaves were made by applying Limon and Jungle Crafter's Inks to fabric using ColorBox Stylus & Tips and cutting out the leaf shapes...
The flower centers were made by adhering fabric that had been inked using Limon Crafter's Ink to the backs of clear buttons...
The strip at the top was made from the canvas fabric as well, the long ends were frayed on both sides, then the strip was sprayed with Bubblegum Sprays! and then stamped with the border in Jungle Crafter's Ink...
The bag, canvas strip and canvas for the flowers were all heat set in the dryer after spraying and before stamping. I let the pieces set for about 15-20 minutes to air dry, then tossed them in the dryer for about 15 minutes on med-high to heat set. The process was repeated after the pieces were stamped; air dry, then heat set.
Beacon Adhesive's Fabri-Tac was used to adhere the flowers and buttons, and their Fast Finish was used to adhere the fabric to the back of the buttons.
