Making Christmas Memories with Colorbox Crafter's Ink

Hello! Sabrina here today to share a favorite family tradition - making ornaments for the Christmas tree! This year we cut some shapes from a scented salt dough recipe (shared below) and while the kids did a little bit of painting and glittering, I went to work with the new Crafter's Ink pads, bottles and newest shades of Smooch Glitz.

There might only be a few days left before the holiday but this would be a great project for Christmas break as well - sip some hot cocoa after playing out in the snow and warm up while making some pretty things.

This is such a simple process and the amount of detail you add is really up to you!

1. Prepare dough, cut, bake and allow to cool.
2. Add a base coat of Colorbox Crafter's Ink. You can color the ornament with the pad  itself or transfer the color with a paint sponge - the pads are super juicy!
3. Allow color to fully dry before adding your glitter layer with Smooch Glitz. Speed up the process by setting with a heat gun or simply put the ornament back in a warm oven.
4. Now add your details with the Colorbox Crafter's Ink Mini Bottles. The container already has a fine tipped paint brush.
5. Allow to dry again before adding in some extras like more glitter and gems. I recommend using a heavy duty glue to make sure the gems stay attached for years to come.

Mix water into dry ingredients (flour, salt, cinnamon) until all of the flour mixture is absorbed. Knead with hands until dough is smooth. Roll out dough to 1/2" thick. Cut shapes with cookie cutters. Bake at 250* for 1 hour 30 minutes. Allow to cool and decorate. Yield - 25 ornaments
