Spritzed Backgrounds and Diecuts - Reach for the Stars

Hi - Jean Okimoto here - with a sparkly design inspired by the colors of the Winter ColorBox Multi-Color Pigment Inkpad.  Silver, Smoke Blue and Royal Blue create a frosty backdrop for a starry winter scene.  Smooch Spritz, Smooch Accent Inks and Sterling Silver Embossing Powder highlight the colors and make it extra-special.

The Vintage Dreams stamp and dies from Memory Box are perfect for this design - the delicate diecuts of the inked watercolor paper add subtle, shimmery accents.

Spritz a 4" x 5.5" piece of watercolor paper with water (about 4 spritzes) and set it aside.  Ink the acrylic block with the Winter Inkpad - then spray the inked block with 4 spritzes of water.  Wait a few seconds for the inks to begin blending, then press it firmly onto the damp watercolor paper.

Lift the block (with the watercolor paper attached) and finger-press the paper to disperse the inks.  Remove the paper and allow it to air-dry for a few minutes.

Repeat the spritzing and inking process with another piece of watercolor paper and let it air-dry for a few minutes.  Place one of the pieces into the Color Catcher and spritz it with Ice Rink - then air-dry it for a few minutes.

Cover both pieces with printer paper, then press and dry them with a dry iron on the cotton setting.
Stamp Vintage Dreams with Moody Blue on the piece that was not Smooch-Spritzed. Trim the paper and ink the edges using the Stylus, Tip and Moody Blue.

Use the Memory Box Metal Adapter Plate with the other plates required for thin metal dies and diecut the dress, Snowflake Corner and Ornament Border from the Smooch-Spritzed watercolor paper.  Diecut the lady from natural cardstock and paint her shoes with Cape Cod Smooch Accent Ink.

Brush Emboss Gloss along the dress hemline and emboss it with Sterling Silver Embossing Powder.  Ink the edges of the Lavender Cardstock strip with Moody Blue.  Assemble the card - use foam dots to attach the dancer.  Attach the diecut starry snowflakes to the dress and background.

Hope you've enjoyed the holiday hops and projects we've shared and have been inspired to create great designs of your own.  Merry Christmas from your Creative Team and everyone at Clearsnap!
