Hello, hostess Tami here!
I have one last Valentine card to share with you, and it features a "hidden" gift!
The embossed metal heart embellishment pulls out to become a bookmark!
The metal heart was diecut, embossed, then sanded and tinted using homemade alcohol ink. To make your own alcohol ink, just mix drops of ColorBox Dye Ink from the Refill Bottle with an equal part of alcohol. I used the ColorBox Stylus & Tip to aply the ink...
The background was diecut and embossed, then inked lightly using ColorBox Chalk Ink for color, and then a light layer of Watermark Twinkle Pearl for shimmer, both applied using the ColorBox Stylus & Tip...
A diecut and printed paper were layered to make a background for the card...
And the sentiment was stamped using ColorBox Chalk Ink and cut out...
Ribbon trims finish up the card.
I was having trouble trying to sand the tiny hearts using small pieces of sandpaper; one or the other kept slipping out of my hand. I saw a WELL used Tip that the foam piece was all but torn apart, so I pulled the foam off and glued on a piece of sandpaper. When the glue was dry {I used Beacon's 3-in-1}, I trimmed around the sandpaper to fit the tip. It worked VERY well in sanding those tiny hearts! And it recycled a Tip that was headed for the trash...
