2011 Love List

Hello! Sabrina Alery here to share an embossing tutorial using the NEW Mix'd Media Inx Embossing Powders and the Mix'd Media Pigment Inx.

I don't know about you, but I often find myself stuck in a rut when it comes to the title of my layouts - alpha stickers with a journaling card - but today is a whole new year and the perfect time to mix it up and try something new.

This layout contains a few of my favorite things from last year which I highlighted by placing the items in embossed chipboard frames. I love plain pieces like these that can be personalized with any stamp design you have on hand. The Inx mixed with the Embossing Powders create a lot of extra interest to make up for the lack of photos. The Embossing Powders particles melt together to create such a smooth texture and with the enticing names I have to keep reminding myself it's not candy!

The title is embossed with two colors - Black and Chiffon - to create a lovely marbled effect and I also did a little inkless embossing in the negative area to create a pool of color around the title. Doesn't it look like melted ice cream in pink? Black could be ink splatters, Jasmine could be snow and so on. The second part of the title still uses alpha stickers but they are mounted on stamped banners for a little extra fun.
