Washi Tape Card

Hello, hostess Tami here with a card that utilizes a piece of Washi Tape that was left over from a batch I made to embellish a journal {see 3/24/12 post}...

The small butterfly strip across the upper portion of the card is the Washi Tape I stamped...

To make the background paper for the card, I first stamped multiple butterflies using the NEW! Watermark Twinkle in Stardust on white cardstock and embossed it with Clear Top Boss Embossing Powder. Then, using the ColorBox Archival Ink as watercolors, I washed over the embossed design...

The feature butterfly was done in a similar manner; but I washed the white cardstock with color before stamping and embossing the design...

Using ColorBox Archival Dye Inks as watercolors is a great way to get another use from your inks. Just tap them on a foam or plastic disposable plate, then add a drop or two or water. Then you are ready to "paint", just dip the Tip of your ColorBox Stylus & Tips in some water, then into the "paint" and you are ready to watercolor. Use a different tip for each color and rinse them when you blend several colors. You can also use ink directly from your refill bottles if you have them. And this technique works equally well with the Stephanie Barnard ColorBox Premium Dye Inks or their refill bottles.
