True Blues...

Hello Inky Crafters, hostess Tami here with another Valentine card to share. Like the others I've shown you this month, this one too is done in non-traditional Valentine colors. And again, a ColorBox Queue was used for instant color coordination. The Surfs Up ColorBox Pigment Ink Cat's Eye Queue to be exact...

I love the colors in this Queue; soft aquas, blues and lavenders... perfect to use on a Valentine for your special guy. Here's the card I created using these man-friendly colors...

First, I made banner background strips using the Pigment Inks and a swirl stamp on white cardstock...

The strips were all distressed using the same ink color they were stamped with, followed by a very thin edge of Espresso Pigment Ink applied using the Stylus & Tip. Then, hearts were diecut from white cardstock and each one was inked with one of the four Pigment Ink Colors applied using the Stylus & Tip.

For some extra "texture", a swirl design was stamped across each heart using Frost White Pigment Ink. Each heart was distressed using the same ink color they were stamped with, followed by a very thin edge of Espresso Pigment Ink applied using the Stylus & Tip. And finally, the word "LOVE" was spelled out on the hearts using Espresso ink...

The sentiment was stamped on white cardstock using Espresso ink, which was also used to distress the edges...

To assemble, a card was cut from dark brown cardstock, then matted with a slightly smaller piece of kraft cardstock. Then the banner pieces were adhered, followed by the hearts (banner and heart colors match) which were adhered using 3D squares. The sentiment was cut apart and adhered, the last portion with 3D squares.

Baker's twine bows were added to each end of the "LOVE" heart banner to finish off the card...

    1. Love these colors. So fun for masculine and feminine designs whether its cards or pages. Gonna have to increase my budget for craft supplies and include these in it.

    2. Amazing and I love that it's not a traditional pink color palette!
