Enjoying the New Colors of Fluid Chalk
Greetings everyone. It's Cathie Allan and I'm back to share with you what happens when "white card stock" collides with a couple of the brand new colors of Fluid Chalk. I have been in love with the complete line of Fluid Chalk from the day that Clearsnap introduced this fabulous, blend of ink. I love that it is a multi-surface ink that is pigment based and yet has qualities of a dye-based ink as well. Faster drying (a dye based quality although it stays open long enough to blend the colors beautifully), more light fast (a pigment quality) and an amazing selection of colors makes this one of my "go to" line of inks. Did you know that this ink can be polished with a soft cloth when stamped on glossy paper to bring out a shine and that you can alter alter the color of your metal embellishments (heat set with a heat gun) as well as stamp on vellum, dark colored card stock, canvas and "ohhhh" so much more? I am so excited about the 6 new colors that Clearsnap has given us, guacamole, arctic deep, red barn, pink sky, sea crystal and candied yam. Even the names get my creative heart, salivating. Using simply, white card stock and die-cuts cut from white card stock I created this card.
This card really did start from these pieces of white card stock.
Then using my stamps as applicators with my "smack down" technique that we have stepped out for you in previous blog posts and on my personal blog, I became the "printer" and my card stock "left being white".
I "smacked down" using the large cling, image from Hero Arts and the "ohhh, gotta have that color", arctic deep, Fluid Chalk all over the front of the 5X7 card front. This is fast and fun and anyone can do it. Basically you are just applying the color to your stamp and "smackin'" it onto the panel. Repeat until you are a "happy stamper".
Next, repeat this process with the same wonderful image and the next, "I need this color too", guacamole, Fluid Chalk, over half of a die cut that was cut from the Grand Labels Four, from Spellbinders. The flower die-cuts (these came from the "album, fanciful" from Sizzix) were altered, simply by tapping them onto the arctic deep and guacamole, Fluid Chalk stamp pads. The flower centers were embossed with Clearsnaps, clear embossing powder after coating them with "clear, Top Boss" my favorite clear embossing medium as it also multi-tasks as an extender for quick drying mediums. I simply adore it when my stamp pads can achieve different looks and be used in different applications. This simply gives you more "bang" for your "stamp pad, buck".
Yes, the ribbon started out white too and after applying the arctic deep, fabulous, new color of Fluid Chalk, I ironed it with my hot dry iron to instantly dry and cure my ribbon. Why search for the perfect color of ribbon when you have the means to create it using great stamp pads full of fabulous ink.
I did not forget the interior of my card. I love to continue the flavor of my card to the inside so you achieve ohhhhhhs and ahhhhhhhs all the way thru.
Your stamps and your stamp pads together allow you to become the printer of your very own custom "printed" paper. White paper, has never had it so good and so exciting. THANK YOU everyone at Clearsnap for bringing us 6 more glorious colors to this "already fabulous, multi-tasking, blend of ink. Fluid Chalk truly "brings out the happy" for me!!
Beautiful colors!!!
