Graffiti Valentine

Hello Inky Crafters, hostess Tami here today with another Valentine. It's a little bit edgy; making it a good choice for your favorite teen.

I used the Be Mine Design Adhesives set for the central designs and embossed them in black and red...

This card only uses one sheet from the Be Mine Design Adhesives set, so you can make 4 cards from one package.

For the "XOXO" circle, I embossed the outer circle of "XO's" using Top Boss Black Embossing Powder, then embossed the hearts using Red Embossing Powder. Remember, you don't have to use the same color of embossing powder, glitter or foil to finish a design; you can mix colors or even product type on the same design if you wish. To make it easy, cut masks using the matte backing left after you rub the Design Adhesive on. In this instance, I cut out the inner circle of hearts and placed it back over the rubbed on design while I applied the black embossing powder. Then once I shook off the excess, I removed the mask and sprinkled the red embossing powder at the center, then heat embossed both...

The manilla tag was stamped first with a lined journal stamp. Then the "xoxo" design was applied and embossed in black, and the hearts were added and embossed in red. Black and red fine tip pens were used to personalize the tag and to "graffiti" the designs...

The base card, made from kraft cardstock, was stamped at the top and bottom using a lace background stamp and Stephanie Barnard's ColorBox Premium Dye Ink in Licorice...

And to "lift" the tag off the background, a strip of black cardstock was stamped with the same lace background using Mix'd Media Inx in Jasmine and embossed using Top Boss Embossing Powder in Clear...

The sentiment at the bottom uses the last part of the Be Mine Design Adhesive sheet, and is accented with a flower stamped with a design using S.B. ColorBox Premium Dye Ink ink Strawberry...

  9. Cut apart 3 hearts from heart strip portion of Design Adhesive and rub on below "xo"; emboss using Red Embossing Powder.

  11. Tie twine through hole of tag and adhere tag using 3D Foam Squares at a slight angle on card front.
