Spring Flower Card and Coordinating Tag
by Carla Schauer

We have been having a wonderful hint of spring here in Ohio
this week, with warm temperatures and blooming daffodils. I can see the tops of other flowers breaking
through the ground, and I’ve been inspired to make flowers on all my craft
projects as well. This card and tag set
is loaded with spring colors, flowers, and the fantastic Design Adhesives from
Clearsnap!
I started with the card, with a light yellow textured
cardstock, and a solid green cardstock embossed with a swiss dot embossing
folder and my Sizzix Big Shot. I lightly
ran my Moss Green Cats’ Eye Inkpad over the raised dots to give them a little
more definition. Some aqua velvet
ric-rac gave it a nice punch of color.
I love using the Designer Foils with my Design Adhesives,
since the foils give such a clean, well-defined shape when used with the Design
Adhesive Shapes. I chose a leaf shape
from the “Feels Like Fall” set. (Yes,
they work wonderfully for non-fall projects, too!) With Limeburst foil on a medium yellow
cardstock, my leaves look happy and spring-like. I paired my leaves with an accordion-folded
flower for a bold accent.
The Design Adhesive phrases from the “Tag It” and “Lots of
Thoughts” packs are great for using on cards and tags. I chose a loopy bracket frame and a flower
from “Tag It” and the Thanks a bunch phrase from “Lots of Thoughts”, with Limeburst
and Pink Punch colored Designer Foils to add a sentiment to the bottom left of
the card.
I try to make a coordinating tag after I make a project,
since the supplies are already out and ready.
To make the gift tag, I started with a white cardstock tag shape, and
directly applied Aqua Pigment Cat’s Eye and Glacier Lake Archival Dye Inks to
the tag, blending colors. I added a
dot-embossed scrap of the medium yellow cardstock, and an accordion folded
scrap of striped paper as well. Once
again, I embellished with Design Adhesives and Designer Foils, using the large
flowers and swirled oval frame from “Tag It” and a phrase from “Lots of
Thoughts” with Pink Punch foils. I cut out the flowers and oval tag with
micro-tip scissors and adhered them to the tag, using foam adhesive to lift the
tag. A green satin ribbon is tied to the
top, and the tag is finished.
Quick spring happiness, using the Design Adhesives and
Designer Foils!
