Dollar Store Makeover

Hello! Hostess Tami here with a makeover idea for you!

Dollar Stores can provide a wealth of potential altered projects and the price is ALWAYS right! I love to take a spin around these updated five and dimes when I am in a "crafty" mood. My visit last week netted me this piece...

I thought it would make a great piece to alter; swapping the saying for photos of my kids, and giving it a vintage look.

I reached for my Mix'd Media Inx, knowing that their great vintage colors and super-creamy weight would work perfectly for this project.

Here's how my dollar store find turned out after it's makeover...

If you'd like to see how the transformation took place, check out this short 2 1/2 minute tutorial...

  1. Tami,
What a great find! I luv those mix'ed media inx, and can't wait to try them on some of my projects. The pix of the boys were awesome, too. I knew who they were, before I saw your name on the post. They sure have grown since the last time I saw them. Great job, keep the inspiration coming!
