Spray it up! DIY Foam Core Picture Frame

Hey everyone, Denise Hahn here and yes back to school is just around the corner and since my little ones are all grown up the only school I have been to lately is Puppy Kindergarten! What better way to capture a precious school memory than a homemade picture frame using a little Clearsnap Stephanie Barnard Spray and some Graphic 45 ABC Primer papers? (Even if it's a four legged memory!)

Instructions:
Cut out 2 pieces of Foam Core in your preferred size- a top and bottom equal size
On the top piece- cut out a square or rectangle slightly smaller than your photo

Now grab your Color Catcher- your top piece- and your favorite Stephanie Barnard Spray!
Spray generously onto the foam core and then take your brayer and roll it over until the entire surface is covered.
Allow a few minutes to dry-then attach your photo to the inside of the cover and glue top and bottom together.

Then I took some of my favorite paper and embellishments and adorned the frame. I inked the edges with Pumpkin Spice, Toffee and Blackbird all from the Queties collection "Cozy"

I can't wait to play around more with this technique and mix some of the sprays! Here is a little more about how I embellished this frame:

{I love these old school wooden children's blocks, but they are sooo Big! So I just took them out the the shop and sawed the faces of them off. I used my scroll saw but any type of saw will work-even a hand operated one with a little elbow grease! Don't be afraid to use some other color ink besides Brown and Black! I used to only use brown and black, but designing for Clearsnap forced me to start really thinking about color. Now I can't imagine only having black and brown edges! Check out the Pumpkin Spice edge on the tag- it just pops!

{when looking for unique embellishments think about subject matter-
school=pencil+hot glue=voila!}

{This is a close up of how the new Sprays looks on the Foam Core- it just has this great subtle texture, and the coverage is amazing, the sprays have such color saturation. This is a great option rather than painting or using paper!}

  2. That's so cool! Did you know you you can get a picture printed right on the foam core board? I know this company does it, but I want to know how to do make this into a DIY project. Any tips or tricks you know of?
