We're creating with our friends from Xyron all this week! We're so excited to share some inspiring projects and tips and tricks for using Xyron adhesive products with Clearsnap's ink, glitter, and more!
After checking out all our projects here, head on over to the Xyron blog for more crafty inspiration!
Today, Megan Aaron and Suzanne Austin share two gorgeous projects that incorporate doilies!
Designer's Note: I ran the doily through the sticker maker with the front side down so that the adhesive was applied to the top for the glitter. Then I ran it through again the other way to make the back sticky and adhere it to the card. After dry embossing the leaves and the card, I lightly applied the twinkle embossing ink for a little bit of definition.
Supplies:
- Clearsnap Blackbird Chalk ink
- Clearsnap Twinkle Embossing ink
- Clearsnap Sprinkles Glitter
- Xyron Create a sticker 2.5
Other:
- Bazzill Cardstock
- Sizzix Embossing folders and die
- Spellbinders Die
- May Arts Ribbon
Suzanne walks us through how to create another stunning card with a doily as the focus:
Hey everyone! Suzanne here to share a simple card that came together with ease with the help of Clearsnap's goodness and Xyron adhesives!
Let me show you just how easy this card was to create!
I began with a doily that was cut down and sprayed with Colorbox's Stephanie Barnard Premium Dye Ink Spray in "Guava." I let the doily dry (or you can blast it with a heat gun to speed up the process).
Once the doily dried, I ran it through the Xyron 2.5" Create-a-Sticker.
Next I cut a strip of paper, ran it through the Create-a-Sticker twice (once on each side so that adhesive would be on both sides). With the release paper still on, I dry embossed the strip with an embossing folder.
I cut the strip down to the desired size, and glittered the strip with Stephanie Barnard's "Sprinkles" Chunky Glitter followed by Clearsnap's Fairy Dust Glitter in "Sugar Shimmer;" I did the two-step glittering with the Fairy Dust to fill in spots the Chunky Glitter may have missed (it wasn't much!) on the non-raised portions. All that's left to do is to adhere all pieces!
The hearts are from a hole punch. They are tiny! With a stick pin and the help of Xyron's Permanent Glue Stick, they were a breeze to attach! Easy peasy right?!?! Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for more from our Creative Team!
