This is a picture of my daughter taken at a rainy day birthday party that we recently attended. She fell in LOVE with this swing while there. When it was time to leave, she didn't want to leave the swing, and looked very sad to do so when reality set in! ;) The color-textured background makes for a nice backdrop for the the black and white photo and muted papers. Let's get started! ;)
First, I begin the process with a piece of good ole trusty freezer paper. Using a cheap palette knife, I scooped modeling paste (molding) onto the freezer paper.
Second, I sprayed the modeling paste with Stephanie Barnard's Premium Dye Ink Spray in "Banana." With this amount of paste, I spritzed 3-5 times with the spray. This paste dries semi-opaque (white)-I've tried this technique with several other mists, and the opacity has taken away "color quality" leading to increased mist usage. As you can see below, the Premium Dye Ink Spray stays very vibrant!
Using the palette knife, I mixed the paste and spray until the color was consistent.
You can see the vibrancy and pop of color the design adds.
I used Colorbox Premium Dye Ink in "Kettle" to stamp the photo and other images.
I hope you've enjoyed this quick and easy layout that I've created using a very simple technique that could add a nice punch of color and texture to any project!!!
