Spooky Card

Hello! Hostess Tami here with another Halloween card and a few techniques to share with you...

The card front and stamped piece were diecut using a Nestabilities Label set from Spellbinders. Both were distressed around the edges using Blackbird Chalk Ink.

The stamped imaged, which was inked with Black Pigment Ink and embossed with Clear Top Boss Embossing Powder, had a few things done to it to give it a distressed look. First, to make the "solid" raven, not so solid, a piece of crushed up tissue paper was gently dabbed on that part of the stamp to add texture to the bird...

Then, when embossing, some areas were heated a little longer than needed. This overheating allows some of the embossing powder to "melt" into the paper, which slightly blurs the image. But be careful not to hold the heat gun in one place too long - you might scorch your paper! Keep the heat gun moving!

A clock face, cut from printed paper, was embellished with a clock hand attached with a brad, and added to the card front using 3D Foam Squares...

To create the shaped card, the card front was adhered to a 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 card made from black cardstock. The cardstock was trimmed to the shape of the card front all the way around, except for the areas of the card front that met the fold along the left side...
