Hello! Hostess Tami here! Need an inexpensive but FABULOUS gift idea? Maybe something personalized and oh so special for your crafty friends? I've taken some plain craft journals from plain to pizzazz-ed using the NEW! Donna Salazar Mix'd Media Chox Inx, cardstock from Donna Salazar's Mix'd Media Stax, tools and punches from Fiskars, papers and embellishments from Authentique, baker's twine from The Twinery, adhesive from Tombow and lots and LOTS of stamps from Hampton Art...
I'm going to give you step-by-step directions on how to make the "In Flight" Journal...
I started with a 5 X 7 journal, your measurements will vary depending on your journal size. All pieces were distressed around the edges using Chestnut Roan ColorBox Cats Eye Chalk Ink. I cut a 3 1/2 X 2 1/2 piece of manilla cardstock from Mix'd Media Stax. I stamped the background using Distressed Words stamp and Sparrow Chox Inx. The flying pig - from Olde Curiosity Set 1, was inked first with Petals Chox Inx, then a bit of Pomegranate was applied around the edges using ColorBox Stylus & Tips...
Next, Authentique's Classic Type letters were trimmed and adhered beside the pig piece...
The Harlequin Background stamp inked with Petals and Butternut Inx were used to stamp the background of a 4 1/2 X 4 piece of manilla cardstock. The balloons, from Hot Air Balloons set were stamped with Bluejay Inx...
A tag from Authentique's Splendid Two Sided Elements was added along with a button tied with Cantaloupe Baker's Twine...
1-0 were stamped on a 7/8 X 4 1/2 manilla strip using Numbers stamp set and Pomegranate Ink and adhered between pig and balloon pieces...
A border was punched from Splendid's Magnificence printed paper using Fiskars' Interchangeable Border Punch Set loaded with Banners Away. After the strip was punched it was stamped using Distressed Words stamp and Sparrow Chox Inx and adhered along the left edge of the journal...
A bow tied with Cantaloupe Baker's Twine at the top of the spiral adds the finishing touch...
