Tween Rainbow Heart Journal

Hello, hostess Tami here with a Valentine project for your favorite tween or teen, an altered composition book using ColorBox Stephanie Barnard Spray! and ColorBox Crafter's Ink...

Both Colorbox Stephanie Barnard Sprays! and ColorBox Crafter's Inks are great to use on altered projects like this one that is made with upcycled fabrics. The inks are permanent on most porous surfaces when heat set; which you can do with an iron or in the dryer.

The Stephanie Barnard Sprays! were used to color the natural rick rack in it's rainbow hues, as well as the fabric heart base...

ColorBox Crafter's Ink was used to stamp the hearts on the denim...

A narrow strip of denim, wrong side out, was used to make a bow
to finish off the heart...

If your kids are like mine, they outgrown their jeans RAPIDLY! So finding a way to put them to use after they are too short, tight or worn out is a great way to upcycle!

If you are using a darker denim, you can stamp your design first using Snow Crafter's Ink, then stamp it again using whatever color you like. Stamping in the white ink first, will allow the other ink colors to be brighter against the dark denim. Just be sure to heat set the white stamped designs first before restamping.
