Embossed Napkin Holder Gift Set by Megan Aaron

Megan Aaron here today and I am going to show you a fun project that I made with a set of ceramic napkin rings that I got from the dollar rack at my local discount store.

Using Clearsnap's Top Boss embossing ink and white embossing powder, I turned them from drab to fab!! EVen though this project has a Christmas-like theme, this same techniue can be applied to any color of napkin rnig for any holiday or theme. Think green for St. Patrick's Day, flowers for Mother's Day.... the sky is the limit!

The rings, in their original drab state:

Here's how to make them "fab":

Gather the following supplies:
White Embossing Powder, Top Boss Watermark ink, a stamp and a heat gun.

It might be a good idea to have some baby wipes on hand too, for mistakes. The stamp I used is a Hampton Art Graphic 45 stamp that depicts a row of peppermint candies. Simply ink it up with the Top Boss Watermark Ink and roll it onto the napkin ring. The easiest method is to lay the stamp down on the table with the rubber facing up, as in the photo. Carefully look at where the rubber meets the ring and gently but firmly roll the ring down the length of the stamp.

If you make a mistake, wipe off the watermark ink and dry it really well before trying again.

To cover the entire circumference of the ring, I had to stamp the image two times. To avoid smearing the ink, I did them one at a time: stamp, add powder, heat, repeat.
Also, take note that it seemed to take more heat to set the embossing powder on the ceramic napkin rings than on paper so it would be a good idea to hold the rings with toings while heating as they get very hot.

After the embossing was completed, I put the rings back in the acrylic box they were sold in, wrapped it some patterned paper and tied a ribbon around the box in a bow. A tag with some glitter adds the perfect touch!
