Potato Stamping!

It's a few days before Valentine's Day, and my daughter is in need of Valentine Cards for her classmates.
But being an artist, I couldn't let my little one go to school with mass made cards now, could I?

Here's some of the inks I used:

Often on tutorials, you'll see folks use paint, but pigment based ink is neater, and dries a lot faster than acrylic paint.

I do recommend using a newspaper, to make sure your dining room table does not get dirty.

To make the stamps, simply get some larger sized potatoes, and a heart shaped cookie cutter. Cut the potato in half, and press the cookie cutter into the potato. Leaving the cookie cutter in, with a knife, cut around the edges of it, leaving just the cutter itself. Then take it out, and you'll see the stamp!
Easy, right?

Seriously, these are so much fun to make. I made them last year with acrylic paint but I think using ink opens you up to so many possibilities. If you don't have that many class mates, you can also get some clear embossing powder, and emboss the hearts! Oh my goodness.
So many possibilities, and Clearsnap makes it possible.

Happy Crafting!
