Thoughts of Spring

Hello, hostess Tami here today with a "springy" card for you!

The weather has been a little chilly off and on here in San Antonio, and it's got me wishing that Spring would hurry up and get here!

So when looking through my stamps recently the sentiment "sending you WARM wishes" seemed to leap out at me. It seemed the perfect verse to use on a bright, flower-ful card to chase away the grey winter sky blues!

Two of the new ColorBox Limited Edition Pigment Inks seemed to jump out of the box and say "PLAY WITH ME" too: Cupid and Pool. They are bold and cheery and they happened to match some Bazzill printed papers I had on hand.

A fun card, with fun colors needed a fun shape as well, so with the help of a pencil and paper plate, I added some curves to my card...

The printed papers were layered over the white cardstock card base, then the ribbon trim was added. Next the flowers were stamped on the textured side of the cardstock and embossed with Top Boss Clear Embossing Powder. The flowers were cut out and layered along the edge of the red floral printed paper; 3D foam squares were used to adhere a few to add dimension. Rhinestones and pearls from Bo Bunny were used for centers...

The sentiment was stamped using ColorBox Archival Dye Ink in Atlantic Blue which coordinated with some tiny touches of deep blue in the red floral printed paper. The sentiment was cut out and the edges inked...

SUPPLIES:
  • Scissors, Trimmer and Heat Gun
On February 19th, I'll be posting a birthday card using these same two ColorBox Limited Edition Pigment Inks - Cupid and Pool - but with a black and white backdrop. I'll also be using coordinating Smooch Accent Inks as well.

  1. I like the unusual shape and I love what you did with the flowers. Very inspirational!
