Mixed Media Magic Week with Susan K. Weckesser - DAY FOUR

We're so excited to be teaming up with our friend Susan K. Weckesser and her team this week. We first met Susan at a trade show a few years back -- her happy smile, whimsical art, and joy for life were so contagious, we connected with her from the get-go!

All week long, our team members will be creating using Clearsnap inks, sprays, and more + Susan's paper by Want2Scrap, stencils by Want2Scrap, and stamps by Unity. Stop by every day for new inspiration....

Today, Clearsnap Blogger Tami Sanders created a super fun altered memo board!

Hello, hostess Tami here with $1 cork memo board that I altered using products from Clearsnap and Susan Weckesser...

Printed paper, stencil and stamps from Susan Weckesser were combined with Donna Salazar Mix'd Media Inx and Embossing Powders, Donna Salazar Mix'd Media Chox Inx and ColorBox Stylus & Tips to take the $1 memo board from plain to pretty.

I put together a short video showing how I made this project step-by-step...

And, Creative Team Member Sabrina Alery shares a family themed altered notebook:

Hello! Sabrina here to share to notebook I created using the Mix'd Media Inx Pigment ink line from Colorbox and some fun and quirky-cute products from Susan K Weckesser. I just adore this house stamp and it's extra large size - it's perfect for mixed media projects!

Starting with some of her kraft papers with Want2Scrap, I inked up a background using several shades of Mixed Media Inx, applying and blending with a cotton ball to get a grungy prism of color. The next layer is white pigment ink put down with the Define It Rollagraph stamp roller and a few accents with Susan's stencils in brown ink. Finally, I gave the background a spray of Smooch Spritz in Gingersnap for a touch of orange shimmer.

While the background is drying (heat set to speed it up), I stamped and embossed the house image and inked it up with a variety of colors and added a little Smooch in Gold Lame for highlights. The final step is to stamp the "family" sentiment and adhere the house with a few pop dots. Add some paper and a backing page and you have a handy little notebook or mini album for jotting down notes for layouts or perhaps a place to document day to day type events with phone photos.
