Hello! Sabrina Alery here today with a little contrast and comparison for using the new Watermark Twinkle Inks. These inks are your typical watermark pads, great for embossing and creating subtle, tone-on-tone effects plus a bonus element - shimmer and sparkle!!
Watermark Twinkle inks looks beautiful on their own but did you know you can also layer them under your other inks as well? It works wonders with Pigment, Chalk and Dye inks alike and what's better, each type of ink creates a different level of sparkle and has a look all it's own.
Let's talk about the Stardust shade first. Translucent with tiny sparkle particles, this shade allows you to add a touch of sparkle exactly where you want it. If you're the kind of person who loves to add glitter and bling to everything (me!! me!!), you'll love that every image you stamp can now be sparkly too!
The other, equally lovely shade of Twinkle is called Pearl. This color is a bit more opaque and has a shimmery, opalescent quality when stamped on it's own. When layered over other inks or stamped onto dark cardstock, Pearl creates a subtle, silvery veil of shimmer. You can't help but shift the paper to watch the effect in the light!
Now let's take a look at the different effects you can achieve with Watermark Twinkle in a handy little chart. The effects are a little difficult to catch on camera but you'll flip when you see them in person! I'll also share the notes I took when experimenting with each type of ink.
Watermark Twinkle with Pigment Ink
- most subtle twinkling effect
- smooth and crisp color
- requires more ink to cover stamp, especially with lighter colors
Watermark Twinkle with Chalk Ink
- medium twinkling effect
- makes the chalk color a little translucent
Watermark Twinkle with Dye Ink
- boldest twinkling effect
- a little slick, almost like stamping onto a glossy surface
For best results when layering colors and to avoid contaminated pads, apply Twinkle to stamp first, then layer ink color on top. This will leave a bit of shimmer on your colored pad. If this bothers you, you can also create the same effect by stamping the image with ink first and then stamping again with Twinkle on top. Easy to do with clear stamps, but a little more difficult with red rubber.
So are you excited to try the new Twinkle Inks? Be sure to link up your projects to the Clearsnap Facebook Page so we can see what you've been up to too!!
