In the Pink

Hello! Hostess Tami here with another card for Mom to show you...

This card features a stamped and embossed focal piece that has been tinted with Smooch Accent Inks...

I wanted the portrait piece to really stand out, so the frame was stamped using ColorBox Chalk Ink. It's soft matte look doesn't compete with the shine and shimmer of the focal image...

The beautiful stamps are from Stampendous and the pretty embellishments and tone on tone print cardstocks are from Bo Bunny...

Tools:
  • Trimmer, Scissors, Craft Knife and Heat Gun

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Cut a 4 X 12 piece of black cardstock and fold in half to make card.
  2. Cut a 3 3/4 X 5 3/4 piece of pink cardstock and mat on card front.
  3. Cut a 3 5/8 X 5 piece of black cardstock and mat towards top of card front.
  4. Cut a 4 X 5 1/2 piece of cream cardstock, ink frame stamp with Blackbird Chalk Ink and stamp on cardstock. Trim close to design.
  5. Ink portrait stamp with Black Pigment Ink and stamp towards top of frame. Emboss using Clear Embossing Powder.
  6. Fill in details on lady using Smooch Accent Inks: Snickerdoodle for hat, Grape Soda for plumage, Shabby Pink for collar and hat band, Mocha for hair, Taffy for roses and lips, Luscious Lime for eyes and leaves and Aqua Frost for eye shadow. Blot carefully with a clean paper towel to remove any excess ink - Smooch Accent Inks won't dry quickly on any embossed portions.
  7. Use craft knife to cut a small slit at left inside of frame, starting about 1/4 below portrait. Thread end of ribbon through slit and secure on back. Run ribbon to left and clip about 1/2 before right edge of frame.
  8. Adhere filigree trim to right side of ribbon with 3-in-1 glue, covering end and overlapping the frame a bit.
  9. Tie button with embroidery floss and adhere to center of filigree piece using 3-in-1 glue.
