Perfectly Pearly Mermaid

Hello! Hostess Tami here with a card to share with you; It features some beautiful stamps from Stampendous...

The card also features several different products from Clearsnap: Smooch Spritz, Smooch Accent Inks, Top Boss Embossing Powder and Pad and ColorBox Archival Dye Inks to name a few.

First, for the "bubble" background, white cardstock was spritzed using Sea Kiss and Splash Smooch Spritz. Once dry, the design was stamped and embossed using Top Boss Tinted Embossing Pad and White Embossing Powder. Then the bubbles were filled in using several shades of Smooch Accent Inks: Pool, Frosted Aqua and Ocean Soul...

I wanted to use different techniques on the mermaid to really make her sParKle! I started with Dye Inks, using them as "watercolors" to fill in some of the details on her hair and tail. Then Smooch Accent Inks were used to fill in the rest of the details, blending colors slightly were they overlapped. Using both matte and pearl inks added dimension to the design.

Here is a closeup of the mermaid's titan sunset hair...

And here is a look at her aquatically tinted tail...

Here is a look at the finished mermaid, she was cut out and added using 3D dots so she would POP from the background...

Bo Bunny's Distressed Dot cardstocks were a perfect choice for matting and a card base as their great tone on tone colors and designs add to the overall look of the card without detracting from the focal images.

Using a mix of inks and more from Clearsnap helps you to create designs of mYtHicaL proportions!
