Printed tapes - Washi, duct, masking, metallic, anything that sticks - are everywhere. They're bright, colorful, cool, easy, tear-able...and now, using the 3M Scotch Expressions Tapes, they're stampable with ColorBox Archival Dye Inkpads!
Jean Okimoto here - with three of the new Archival Dye Inkpad colors - Midnight, Gooseberry and Pinetree. They're perfect for stamping on the Expressions Tapes.
The stamps are (from left to right) - Savvy Stamps Ornate Swirl Background and Thin Striped Rectangular Background, Impress Honeycomb and Large Pattern Background, and Memory Box Renaissance Tile.
Attach strips of Green, Orange, Pink, Purple and Blue tape to a glossy non-stick surface - I used a piece of glass with polished edges from a window and glass shop. Stamp the patterns onto strips of tape.
Attach the stamped tapes (lightly) to a scrap of cardstock - then carefully and briefly heat-set the inks, holding the heat-tool 3-4" from the tape. Place the tapes on a cutting mat and trim them into strips of varying widths.
Tear the tapes to different lengths - by hand and using the cutter on a tape dispenser. Attach the tape strips to a 5.5" square card of Brown Bag Cardstock. Stamp Savvy Stamps Thanks Typed on masking tape with Midnight and briefly heat-set the ink. Layer it over the colored tapes and attach copper mini-brads.
Experiment with different colors of the ColorBox Archival Dye Inkpads and tape colors to discover the best color and pattern combinations. You'll see your stamps in an entirely new way and once you get started, you won't want to stop!
