Reading is a HOOT!

Hello! Hostess Tami here with a project that features Stephanie Barnard ColorBox Premium Dye Inks and several of The {Stamps} of Life stamp sets.

My youngest who is in 5th grade, is just starting to read a book for his first BIG book report. I thought it would be fun to make the kids in his class bookmarks to use and the Owls2Love set seemed perfect to use to make them...

I also thought it would be fun to use book pages to stamp them on. The owls were first stamped with the solid owl stamp in the various colors, then overstamped using the outline stamp and black ink. The owls were then cut out and layered on the tags with more book paper pieces. Phrases stamped in black and baker's twine ties in coordinating colors finish them off. OH! And the feet, can't forget their cute little feet! Those were stamped in black after the owls were adhered to the tag. LOVE how Stephanie gives you a great mix of solids, outlines, complete designs AND all the little bits so you can really mix, match and layer!

Here's a closer look at the tags...

These bookmarks are definitely a kid friendly project! So get your favorite little crafter busy making book friendly gifts for their class! {and don't forget to make one for teacher too!}
