Fall Ferns

Hello! Hostess Tami here with a card to show you today. The card features a mix of ColorBox Dye and Pigment Inks. Mixing types of inks can create depth in your project quickly and easily...



The background of the card was stamped using ColorBox Pigment Ink, which creates a soft opaque layer...



The main fern motif, that was cut out and adhered using 3D foam squares, was stamped using ColorBox Dye Inks. Stamping the image in dye inks produces a crisp, clear, "transparent" image that contrast nicely with the background...


The sentiment was handwritten using a black pen...

  • Trimmer and Scissors 
Directions:
  1. Cut a 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 piece of kraft cardstock and fold in half to make card.
  2. Cut a 5 1/2 X 4 piece of watercolor paper and stamp top 3 1/2 with fern stamp inked with Olive and touches of Moss Green Pigment Inks using Stylus & Tips to apply.
  3. Cut a 1 1/2 X 4 piece of Book Paper and adhere to bottom of cardstock piece.
  4. Cut a label from brown cardstock, emboss and adhere towards center right of cardstock.
  5. Adhere cardstock piece to card front.
  6. Ink tag stamp with Chocolate and touches of Licorice applied using Stylus & Tips, stamp 2 images on watercolor paper, leaving a few inches space between and around them.
  7. Trim off top of one tag, about 1/8 above top line. Then cut off after 7 lines. 
  8. Write sentiment on second and third lines using black pen.
  9. Ink fern stamp using Artichoke and touches of Chocolate applied using Stylus & Tips, and stamp over tag; cut out fern.
  10. Adhere tag at an angle over label, then use 3D foam squares to adhere fern at an angle over bottom left of tag.
  11. Apply row of rhinestones at left and right where book paper meets stamped cardstock.
