Flowers for Spring, Please!

Today is the first day of Spring and I am oh so ready to celebrate!! Warmer weather, loads of flowers, and excuses to dress up...yes please :)

Easter is right around the corner and this headband project is super easy to make, plus, you can even do it with the kids. After Easter is over, this hair accessory can be used as a statement piece for a bit of Spring color and flower flair!

Gather the following supplies:

Clearsnap Product:
Other Supplies:
Directions:
  1. Place the headband base into the Color Catcher
    ®
     and spray with
    ColorBox
    ®
Premium by Stephanie Barnard Sprays in Bubblegum. Use a heat gun to speed drying or allow to dry naturally.
  2. Glue 3 buttons together in a stack to form a flower center.
  3. Cut several circles, about 3" in diameter, from the wool felt. Cut these circles into spirals.
  4. Starting at the outside end (pointy end) of each spiral, wrasp the felt around a stack of bttons. Continue to roll the felt up into a cinnamon roll type shape arond the button stack. Hot glue the circle that was in the center of the spiral to the back of the cinnamon roll shape. Create 3 flowers in this manner.
  5. Cut leaves from green wool felt. Draw veins on the leaves with Smooch® Accent Ink in Lettuce.
  6. Starting at the base of each leaf, apply Smooch Glitz
    ®
in Lime Twist to each leaf, brushing form the base of the leaf towards the end. Apply more Smooch Glitz to the base of the leaf than to the end of the leaf. Set aside to dry.
  7. Apply hot glue to one side of the headband. Apply the leaves to the headband base. Then add several beaded sprays to the headband. Next, cover the base of the leaves and the ends of the beaded sprys by hot gluing the felt flowers to the head band.
  8. Wear and enjoy!
