My Sweet Girl by Suzanne Austin

Hey everyone!  Suzanne here sharing a layout featuring a watercolor technique created using this month's featured product-Smooch Accent Inks.  This layout was so much fun to create because Smooch Accent Ink i so amazingly versatile!

I will show you how easy it is to create this richly colored, shimmery background using Smooch Accent Inks

Beginning with a piece of cotton rag paper (watercolor paper would work perfect for this technique as well), saturate the paper with enough water to pool-just a bit.  Take the nib of the Smooch Accent Ink and gently swirl in the pool of water trying as much as possible to not touch the paper.

Notice how the ink "takes off running" once it hits the pool of water!  I used a paint brush to help move the ink and water around.  Continue to do this step until you're happy with color placement.

The end result will look something like this!  Let the ink and water dry completely and continue to layer on color as you choose!

Here, you can see that even with dilution, the Smooch Accent Ink doesn't lose it's shimmery punch!  Here are a few close-ups.

I used a Donna Salazar stamp with ColorBox Archival Dye Ink in "Wicked Black" to add additional dimension and interest.
The fun heart pattern was stamped using ColorBox Stephanie Barnard Premium Dye Inks in "Guava and Bubblegum" and Colorbox Archival Dye Ink in "Grape Slushy."  Are you ready to get messy and try this fun technique?  We sure hope so!   Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for more from our Creative Team!
