Hello, hostess Tami here today with an easy-peasy baby announcement for twins to show you...
The card features the Sweet4Babies stamp set from The {Stamps} of Life. I like that the set offers some of the designs in several different forms; for instance the pea pod comes in a solid, an outline and a striped version. And the peas come in solids and outlines. This gives you a choice of a design to use alone - or for more fun - LAYER them!
Layering the different styles is exactly what I did for this card. And I not only mixed the stamps, I mixed my inks as well. I used both ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink and ColorBox Pigment Ink. The designs done in Chalk Inks were stamped first, then the images to be stamped using Pigment Ink were added. Since the Chalk Inks dry quickly, the Embossing Powder stuck only to the Pigment Ink. And embossing the Pigments Inks added both shine and texture.
For the pea pod design, the pea pod was stamped first using the solid stamp and Lime Pastel Chalk Ink. Then to add some definition, the outline stamp inked with Guacamole Chalk Ink was added. And finally, the striped pea pod stamp was inked with Moss Green and stamped over the pod and embossed using Clear Embossing Powder. The peas were done using the same color Chalk Inks and the solid and outline peas...
The sentiment was done using the same mix of Chalk Inks and Embossed Pigment Ink. Guacamole Chalk Ink and Moss Green Pigment Ink were used...
Layering stamps and using different types of ink can add interest to your cards quickly and easily!
